It would be more amusing if he could string two coherent thoughts together. Then I could have some real fun poking him with a stick. But I even tried dividing by zero and he STILL did not make sense.

What you haven't discovered is the traditional cultural pattern - men tend to talk only to solve problems, which they take seriously.   Women talk to relate, and they aren't serious, only maneuvering for position - you don't understand, I am discussing solutions, not trying to make your girlfriends happy.

We're just on different wavelengths - women (usually) just want everybody to seem happy, while men expect to solve problems, and leave people free to deal with their own realities.   I'm telling you up front, 'this is the solution to the problem', and you simply cannot believe that I am not like you, ie not worried about reality as long as everybody is smiling.

This is the reason men & women can think they speak the same language, and still not communicate - they use language for different purposes.   Men are obvious, women are not.

What you have to do is avoid being mistaken for the other gender - in other words, don't talk like you're serious if you're not.  It confuses everybody - including yourself.

You really don't have to call names or get disturbed - just accept the fact that I am talking about an impersonal reality, and you are free to ignore it, or deal with it.    I cannot guess or care what might upset you, that is your personal problem.

I have a secretary who has worked for me 20 years.   And I have learned that you can never know when a person might say something relevant, so I tend to patience.   I've won cases on things I learned standing in the passageway 5 minutes before trial.

But twice a week, after 10 minutes of minutiae, I *still* find myself asking her if she has a point in there somewhere.   And she has learned not to take it personally.

But many women learn.   I know plenty of good women lawyers & judges who can get to the point very well, and know better than to confuse the message & the messenger.   Honestly, a smart woman makes my heart sing and my pecker stiff.   Eventually.
