Or:
"I'm here to pick up my prescription, a box of condoms, and a dozen pap smears, please" [sm=lol.gif]
Reminds me of jokes the nurses used to play on the ER newbies, sending them to supply for a case of fallopian tubes.

well...we all seem to be fiddling while Rome has already burned...way to the ground and into dust. The US is dead.

Who to blame? All of us.

I won't jump into the abortion debate, since I practice the only 100% foolproof method of contraception.

As for the debt, blind spending cuts tend to do more harm then good, since anyone laid off as a result is transformed from a taxpayer to an unemployment insurance benefit collector, negating a large chunk of the savings.  The real Deficit Monsters that need to be tamed in the long run are falling revenues and health care costs.  Our political inability to raise taxes, or even to decline tax cuts, especially when our military is on a war footing and has grown 81% in the last decade (adjusted for inflation), is just not sustainable.  Of course, all the tax policy, military policy, and discretionary spending policy changes in the world can't help us if we don't get rid of our employer-based health insurance system.  As long as consumers are isolated from costs, the free market isn't going to bring down costs any time soon.  (As someone on another forum put it, if employers paid for 90% of our cars, we'd all be driving BMWs, right?)  Bringing down healthcare costs is about more then just balancing the budget, too - even if we follow Rep. Ryan's plan to dump all the costs and risk onto individual citizens, we're still burning 16% (and rising) of our economy on health care costs, and whether or not it goes through the government along the way, it's still a huge drag on our economy.

No, it's not fucking funny. But I'm glad you felt that you had to announce to the world that you think the image of women getting PAP smears at Walgreems is hilarious.

You know, I have fought for reproductive rights, and contributed to PP and NOW when I had a couple spare bucks, but I figure why should I even bother when people like you are out there sabotaging my efforts?

I give up. Fight the fight your fucking selves. If you all get the right to abortions removed by the refucklinazis, well, tough shit. I'll be laughing at the visual.

Lucylastic -> RE: Democrats tuck their tails and shiver in the corner (4/12/2011 4:33:44 AM)

Thats bloody ignorant Hippie,
I suggest you go back and read what I was talking about, about who is saying Bullshit about PP, that was fox n friends making a ridiculous statement.
As a woman I found it hysterical because its not only blatantly wrong, and will never happen, it is actually funny, if you have ever had a prostate  exam you can laugh because its embarrassing as fuck , the thought of having it done in a store in front of everyone is toooo pathetic to get angry at, and most nurses have a really dark sense of humour, they need to have.
If you cant get the visual as being pathetic and outrageous and NOT what women will EVER need or want or stand for, thats on you not Wyld.
I will continue to give money to PP and fight for womens rights as a NON american even tho where I come from its not needed,,*thank FUCK*  because I do not want friends and family and any women reduced to back street alleys or relying on certain people  in DC to do right by them.

All the scum written in this thread and you go for Wylds jugular? something wrong there.

tazzygirl -> RE: Democrats tuck their tails and shiver in the corner (4/12/2011 5:51:20 AM)

Walgreens does have clinics within the stores, Lucy. However, this I find hilarious!

On April 9, Doocy and Kilmeade responded to Reid by dismissing Planned Parenthood services:

STEVE DOOCY: And the thing about it that was audacious was the fact that he [Sen. Harry Reid] was talking about Planned Parenthood being this great provider where women can get blood pressure checks, and pap smears, and breast --

BRIAN KILMEADE: Which you can get at Walgreens.

DOOCY: --examinations. Exactly right.

"Neither Walgreens, nor its in-store healthcare clinics, Take Care Clinics, offer pap smears or breast exams," Take Care Clinic spokeswoman Lauren Nestler told Media Matters after being emailed the segment.

The clinics, which are a subsidiary of Walgreens, offer health services like flu vaccines and blood pressure screening at 350 Walgreens stores.

Fox & Friends' false claim about pap smears is the latest in a series of attempts by conservatives to dismiss the importance of Planned Parenthood for women's health services. As Steve Benen noted, "Republicans, like their cable news network, would like the public to believe the preventative health services provided by Planned Parenthood aren't especially necessary or worthy of funding, since they're readily available everywhere -- as if every block in America has a Starbucks, an ATM, and screenings for cervical cancer. Except, that's ridiculous, Fox News lying about it, ironically, only helps underscore the value of Planned Parenthood clinics."

Its said when a corporate entity has to come out and publically state what service they do NOT provide.

I mean, come on, its on their web site.

Lucylastic -> RE: Democrats tuck their tails and shiver in the corner (4/12/2011 6:08:29 AM)

Im glad they have the clinics, I admit I didnt know that, and  kudos to them,  but yes the comments by doocy n co were my main bitch, the whole line of bs given by the right to discredit PP  its not misspeaking or mistakes, its bullshit fearmongering.
takes you back a few decades in a twisted sort of way

Jesus, even Reagan had higher taxes and you didn't see some grand exodus of outraged millionaires.  We even had millionaires back when the brackets were in the 90% range.

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont gave a speech on the Senate floor lasting more than eight hours opposing extending tax cuts for the wealthy. Why didn't President Obama listen to him? If Obama had ended tax cuts for the wealthy and cut military spending, the most vulnerable Americans wouldn't have to worry about much needed services being cut. What was it like when tax brackets for the rich were in the 90% range? Jobs paid more (in ratio with that time period) and offered better benefits. Only one income was needed to support a family. We had a strong economy because we had a strong middle class. And despite the high tax rates, we still had millionaires. Sanders knows what needs to be done to save and grow this economy. If only our president, congress, and senate would follow his advice.

They are not tax cuts....they are tax rate cuts...and they extend to everyone

The problem is we did NOT shut down the government. shut it down and see who notices. It would not have been a total shut down anyway.

One of the best ways to do just that...have men get out of your bodies...is for some of these women, who do not want to get their tubes tied or use any form of birth control, to keep their legs CLOSED.

Glenn is that you????
The non-profit group that provides life-saving medical screenings to millions of women every year is only used by “hookers,” according to right-wing conspiracy host Glenn Beck.
http://www.rawstory.com/rawreplay/2011/04/glenn-beck-claims-only-hookers-use-planned-parenthood/
Independent research shows that each year Planned Parenthood plays a role in preventing over 2 million unwanted pregnancies and stopping over 800,000 women from getting abortions, saving public agencies billions of dollars in the process. Without the group, research shows that America’s overall abortion rate would be two-thirds higher, with numbers nearly doubling among poorer women. The group says that only three percent of their patients request abortion services.
Come into the 21st century

Why? Because I am tired of hearing some women whine about how men have no business telling them what they can and cannot do with their bodies, including reproduce OR abort right up until the time they have the baby...then these women will tell the men what they can do about the woman;s choice...pay for it. And by the way, I am tired of the dumbass men who take no steps in protecting themselves from becoming a father when they are ill-prepared to be one.

Nows then, Glenn Beck is a nut. I know it is hard for you to believe but he does not speak for all conservatives, anymore than Ward Churchill speaks for all progressives. But when you are speaking about Planned Parenthood, how about going a little deeper?
Planned Parenthood is the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider.[29] In 2008, they reported that contraception constituted 35% of total services, STI/STD testing and treatment constituted 34%, cancer testing and screening constituted 17%; and other women's health procedures, including pregnancy, prenatal, midlife, and infertility were 10%;[30] less than 2% of visits involve abortions.[31] However, "almost all of its services for pregnant women are abortions, according to its own fact sheet published [in March 2011]: It performed 332,278 abortions in 2009, while serving 7,021 prenatal clients and referring 977 parents to adoption services."[32] Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions in the United States.

No one has denied that fact, EVER
so your post is really without any merit (WOT A SHOCK)
What is your problem? can you find somewhere where  ANYONE on this thread has denied they provide abortion services?
Its a legal medical procedure,
so your trolling is beyond laughable
