Well, Mike, I've been out for the special glow-in-the-dark rolls at the local sushi emporium, and I may have had more snake sake and soju than is best for civil dialogue, but I'll hang for a bit.

Arturas, he has ignored the debt commission..

Then either he appointed some idiots and we should hold him responsible for that or he used them as cover so he looks like he is doing something and we should hold him responsible for that.

But maybe not. After all, he is a Community Organizer and we all knew that when he was elected so who is responsible for this fiasco then, the voters? I would suppose so.

[sm=rofl.gif]

Maybe we should start holding people responsible for using sock puppets on the boards.

Sorry if you can't face the reality of what abortion brings into the social equation. You're a lib, of course, and libs just ain't good with the unintended consequences of their good deeds.

It's funny what gets revealed in those moments. So you're perfectly happy to strip one gender of reproductive rights, huh?

I think males should have equal reproductive rights when they can carry a baby for nine months and give birth. Lets not kid ourselves here, when relationships fail it is usually the women left holding the baby.

Why the hell any men thinks he has the "right" to direct a woman to have his child is beyond me.

Im sorry... reproductive rights?

I read some time ago an article about how men would have the same rights to reproduction as women when the womb is outside of the body.

I hate stupid people. Oh, right. That's why I never post here. Man, I'm dumb.

Thanks.

We'll miss you.

God help me, but I have to agree with Richie, and this is a first if anyone is keeping track.

Women want to be able make the decision on their own, but once that kid pops out then it is the man's responsibility to support it.

Or reverse that and say the man wants the baby and the woman doesn't.

This is not a one-way street though you are trying to argue it is.

tazzygirl -> RE: Democrats tuck their tails and shiver in the corner (4/10/2011 12:31:43 AM)

Cover it or keep it in your pants. You always have the option of sterilization in a Drs office as well. A little snip snip is far easier than what a woman must go through to get her tubes tied. Perhaps if men focused more on their "reproduction region" in the form of birth control than in the form of getting it hard all the time (Viagra), we wouldnt be having this discussion

On yes, its only the man's responsibility to support the kid.. the women doesnt give a thing, right?

quote:

Or reverse that and say the man wants the baby and the woman doesn't.

And when a man can carry a child, and take on all the risks associated with having a baby, then he can say what happens to him and his life. Until that moment, get out of our bodies.

You are among the very few who refuses to admit that the deficit is a serious problem.

Raising the debt ceiling one time isnt the issue so much as raising it again and again is, so much as pretending there isnt a problem is. So much as pretending that we can print endless dollars out of nothing is.

And just what do you think will happen to the dollar if we don't raise the debt ceiling, default on our debt, and suddenly the economic bedrock principle that "U.S. T-bills are a risk-free investment" is no more?  Without confidence in U.S. debt being risk-free, the status of the dollar as the de facto world reserve currency would end in a heartbeat as investors worldwide set new speed records fleeing for safer currencies.

Also, by historical standards, our debt is not that high, though our deficit is. Obviously our nominal debt has never gone down except briefly under Clinton, but nominal debt isn't the best measure - is $10,000 in debt the same to an unemployed college dropout as it is to Bill Gates? Measured by our ability to pay the debt, we were in much, much worse shape after World War II then we are today. On the other hand, after World War II we had the political will to raise taxes on the rich, which somehow didn't grind the economy to a halt. If we found the political will to switch to single-payer healthcare and restore taxes to historical norms, we would easily be outgrowing our debt again.

and even fewer realize that the "interest" on the debt is impossible to ever pay off in a closed money monopoly!

Pretending that payment of a debt with a debt note can pay anything off in the first place...LOL

Thats how its done when a country is bankrupt....hmmm.......

Sanity and Realone are on the same page.Do I need to say more?

outhere69 -> RE: Will Republicans cause yet again another government shutdown? (4/10/2011 2:58:16 PM)

The debt ceiling's been raised 74 times since 1962.  It's nothing new.

The government's already committed to pay obligations that require raising the debt ceiling.  Too late to change our minds.  Unless you want to default, and bring ruin upon our economy.  Like total ruin.

I've been waiting for the Republicans to man up and admit you need to address the revenue side to fix the structural deficit.  Not by cutting taxes even farther, either. (Jesus, even Reagan had higher taxes and you didn't see some grand exodus of outraged millionaires.  We even had millionaires back when the brackets were in the 90% range.)

Sanity -> Will outrageous Democrat spending cause the total failure for the American way of like? (4/10/2011 5:13:29 PM)

Are you saying that Obama was shooting rainbows out of his ass when he promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term?

That when he was telling us just last year that the soaring deficits could jeapordize the recovery, he was in way over his head, and had no clue?

That Obamas CIA director, Secretary of States, and Secretary Of Defense are out of their leages when they warn that the deficits are a serious threat to our national security?

Or are what is your point. Are you trying to tell us that you know better than any of the above people how much debt we should be taking on as a nation?

You may not like it RML but it is entirely a one way street. Men have no rights as to whether a woman has to give birth. Even if we get them pregnant. I am surprised any of you can think we have, especially in this day and age.

What makes you feel you have the right to force a woman to endure nine months of pregnancy due to your "rights"

Isn't that the point TheHeretic. Like, when are you going to worry about being pregnant? It's one reality you will never have to face. Someone has to be pregnant before abortion enters any equation. Why do insist on imposing your view on someone who's in a place you'll never be and can make their own choices for themselves? And the same someone who has to live with the consequences, no matter the circumstances.

One of the best ways to do just that...have men get out of your bodies...is for some of these women, who do not want to get their tubes tied or use any form of birth control, to keep their legs CLOSED.

slvemike4u -> RE: Democrats tuck their tails and shiver in the corner (4/11/2011 7:53:45 AM)

Why do I get the feeling that the woman in your immediate orbit have no issues with doing just that.
