So, I've been told recently that carbonation is the bad guy in carbonated beverages; that a beverage can be sweetener free, sodium free, just carbonated water & flavor & it can contribute to weight gain or at least lack of weight loss. Thoughts?

Don't buy it.  People drink carbonated water all of the time w/no problems.

I get the same treatment here.  I am also doing a protein shake or 2 so I wont eat as much.

BTW, Mom purchased a exercise bike/elliptical machine.  Just a little something to play with.[sm=champ.gif]

I had hoped that what you say was true, Potty, because there I love flavored seltzers. I actually prefer them over sodas. I don't like sweet very much, so even the "diet" beverages are too icky sweet to me. I will on occasion enjoy a beverage sweetened with actual sugar, but the HFCS is disgusting!!! Right now my favorite beverage is water with Mio in it. It's a liquid that one squeezes into water for flavor. The container is supposed to make 24 pints, but I probably get twice that much out of it.

The SO got me the treadmill I've been droolin over for months!!!!! I'm so happy and it came with hand weights too. I'ma be a walking fool!! I'll be back to running 4 or 5 miles again as soon as this dizziness gets away. I'm excited!!!

Nothing wrong with enjoying a swim. Especially in this heat.

I wish that I can go swimming but I don't have the money for it.  Besides, I am leaving on Thursday to get back home.

Last night was "Step Aerobics". Very fast paced & I was drenched very soon![sm=mop.gif]
I did the standing portion of my HHA's but I just didn't have the energy to do the floor exercises.  I took the dog out for a short walk then hit the shower so I could eat. (I just HATE to eat when I'm sweaty & smelly from my workout).
Dinner was brown rice & salsa.

30 minutes on the treadmill then a ton of weighted Ab exercises.

I'm not going to be able to sit up tomorrow.

Thank you for the tips and support blacksword and angel. I did get to swim a little bit while I was there, and will get to while I'm at my class this weekend too. I'm going to try just getting out and walking more often, even if it is just to the mailbox. I would love to get a treadmill and then be able to walk while watching the news or a movie, but not in the cards quite yet.

Yeah that's about all I'm doing today. I try to get it in right when I get up. Seems to work a lot better. Tomorrow it's squats.

No problem. We usually have more time in the day than we think we do. Once your mind is on fitness you'll start looking at a minute or two of free time as an opportunity to do a little of this or that. It all adds up.

You might try the YMCA. I think some typically have pools.

Yesterday I did 3.5 miles of power walking.
Tonight will be 3-2-1 class then HHA at home.  Maybe walking a mile or 2 afterward
