When the video was taken, the man was already down. The police have acknowledged that it was a tear gas cannister. so your point 3 is (as usual) BULLSHIT.

The video does clearly show a police officer tossing a flashbang directly on top of an injured man. How do you defend that? the spokesman for the police has claimed that flashbangs were not used but if you listen to the video, you can hear no less than 8 going off. Defend that jimmy.

I could be wrong... just my opinion... but I think you will find most Marines will look on that boy as a disgrace to their uniform...and if called upon they will be glad to knock a few more heads.

Not based on some of the boards that Ive looked at on sites frequented by retired military. Most of them are PISSED OFF and not at the injured marine.

Tazzy they are just people...no better or worse then anyone else...they are not heroes in themselves...circumstances may make them into heroes but not Gods. They have varied political views and if anything they lean towards the Republican party. Despite your enthusiasm and belief that they will raise up in protest over this boys misfortune the response will be varied and will lean towards a conservative view at least in my opinion.

   We talked about a lot more and let me tell ya. They ARE watching this shit and they AREN'T happy. And they are looking at this movement and wondering if they should be checking it out more closely,. Needless to say, they have my card.

Yes, we're varied people with varied political leanings. However we're all brothers and none of us take abuse of our brothers lightly. The Marines are even more tightly knit than the other branches. They may fight amongst themselves but they will unite if attacked from outside.

Right now Marines all over this nation, many of whom couldn't have cared less about OWS, are mad as hell and will be supporting the movement in ways big and small.

You couldn't do a better job of missing the point if you practiced. For most Iraq vets, this isn't turning out to be about politics.
  It's about cops stepping over the line in a big fucking way. It's apparently escaping you that those vets the other night had put themselves on display. As is the custom for "Vet's For Peace" (who incidentally are well regarded by retired and active duty service men alike). The field of view was wide open and the cops decided to send a message.
   Like I said before, you're mistaken.

In case anybody's interested in actually SEEING with their own eyes what may have the servicemen MOST enraged .. this news cast has it... They wait till a bunch of kids clearly come to his rescue and AREN'T being provacative (they never get a chance to) and BAM another canister is fired right into that goup ... they CLEARLY mean to fuck with people.

I agree Ken, being the son of one, I can attest to the fact that marines are a funny bunch. They can pick up a whole banner after seeing one of their own go down.

Yeah, if you're like most folks your age, a half decent number of the guys you know have been. And I'm not surprised they're pissed. My hope though is that some'll come down and be counted as opposed to looking to beef with the cops.
   First place (besides maybe oakland... cause they're just fucking idiots) ... first place they see 50 vet's shoulder to shoulder down at one of these sites, I think they might think a little harder before they fire the gas.
