DomKen -> Romney antigay bully? (5/10/2012 7:58:47 AM)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/mitt-romneys-prep-school-classmates-recall-pranks-but-also-troubling-incidents/2012/05/10/gIQA3WOKFU_story.html?hpid=z2

So how much importance should be given to a Presidential candidates behavior in high school? Is the fact that Romney claims not to remember something that was vividy recalled by 5 other particpants troubling?

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Romney antigay bully? (5/10/2012 7:59:45 AM)

No importance whatsoever.

Moonhead -> RE: Romney antigay bully? (5/10/2012 8:04:19 AM)

Ideally, none.
But if we're going to have this crap about the Kenyan eating dogs like it's a serious issue that needs discussion, I don't see why Romney shouldn't be given a bit of shit over this. Gay rights are a bit more of an issue than dog eating, after all.

fucktoyprincess -> RE: Romney antigay bully? (5/10/2012 8:06:24 AM)

My very first reaction was "is anyone surprised at this??" Seems quite consistent with everything else we know about him.

I'm not sure it matters per se. In the sense that people can outgrow their immaturity, so I would not want to hold people responsible for what they did while their frontal lobe was still developing.

HOWEVER, this is further proof that Romney has not really evolved as a human being. He was a privileged intolerant teen who has grown into a privileged intolerant adult. Not who I want for President.

I agree ... Romney can't give a straight position on whether he's changed his adult diaper recently, never mind state a position that lasts longer than 5 minutes.
You think he might just be trying to tire everyone out so they don't notice he's the most disconnected, talentless, gutless man to run for president since Hoover?

None of us is surprised at this, right? I know I'm the only one from Michigan in this thread thus far, but we remember this family from WAY back.

Michigan. Where the trees are the right hight. Yep.[8|]

I agree with you on this. If they can attack the President for something he did as a child (9) then it's fair to go after Willard for something he did in High School.

It's not like the President is out making a stand if it's right or wrong to eat dogs. But Willard is against equal rights for gay people when it concerns health concerns of visiting partners in hospitals, against marriage equally for ALL people in this country.

So Willard has a history of hate towards a certain group of people he knew in HS and harassed them and physically attacked them, yea I think he has some explaining to do.

Mupainurpleasure -> RE: Romney antigay bully? (5/10/2012 11:57:26 AM)

Let me get this straight the President ate dog meat which still happens in arts of the world where they need the freaking protein and that's an issue? Why? Romney on the other hand is showing more evidence is he a liar, he is cruel, he changes his core values to reflect what others wish to hear on a near daily basis, He is a bold faced liar and says things so over the top like saving Detroit with a straight face.....mmmm seems to lack empathy, dog on roof, gay basher, has no core identity, lies easily and often, appears as different thigns to different people...mmmm anyone got the DSM definitin of a sociopath?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Romney antigay bully? (5/10/2012 12:06:09 PM)

Wasn't the eating dog thing some kind of birther issue to prove Obama not being a "real" American?

Something like that. I have a feeling our friend sunny would disagree. She's American as apple pie and I seem to recall her saying it was quite tasty as she is living in Korea at this time.

Yeah, lots of people eat dogs, but it was a KENYAN dog, eh? Makes all the difference.

Personally, I won't be impressed until we get down to the nitty gritty... you want dirt from his youth ... ask Mitt who THIS family member is

Very true, but I'm not so PC that I think animal rights are more important than human rights.

A different non Morman-plutocrat branch of the Romneys, I'd have thought. It's a pretty common German name, and as Wavey Gravey actually joined up and served his country, I doubt he's any close relation to Peepants.

Pretty close ... His Christian Name is Hugh Romney.

Ben & Jerry's has an Ice Cream Named After him under his current name.

Nope. But I can send you a few tins of catfood if you're that hungry.
