I dont think its telling at all, both could be true..
I didnt know my brother was gay until he was about 30 years old when he told me.. And i was living with him as a kid and when he was going to university he was living in my basement.. I even tried to fix him up with a girl once.. i had no clue he was gay..
And as for bullying goes,.. i think a lot of kids forget various times they did things like that.. so imo, he could be telling the truth about both not knowing the guy was gay (was "gay" even used back then?) and that he doesnt remember every thing he did when he was a kid.. the guy is 65 now, that happened over 45 years ago ffs.. it was a totally different era..
but i get that lots of people have a hate on for the guy so see absolutely everything he does or ever did since being bottle fed as evil.. so whatever..
