LOL Of course no one is taking any responsibility for anything, even you cant be honest,
ALl the rethugs have said reform is dead...hence the threat of EO action.

Again, polls show that no one wants Barack's "reform"

So dead is where it belongs

And if he acts on his own as king, he should be held accountable for whatever crimes he commits

I am not sure why President Obama's Administration finds it necessary to pick a fight it knows it cannot win and spend millions of taxpayer dollars doing so

Maybe he learned that trick from the people who keep trying to repeal the ACA, investigate Benghazi for the 37,000 time, shut down the Government because they were throwing a hissy fit. You mean that kind of wasting of taxpayers money?
My sincere and genuine apology to the Republicans in the audience, but it is kind of silly when there is so much shit that is happening that is waste of taxpayers money from both parties to just sit there and point at Obama and claim he is the only one assfucking the general public.

Republicans deserve what they've voted in. Feel bad for them if they thought they were voting for conservatives...

The country deserves a functional government with elected representatives that represent all of us. The so called conservatives, they're actually reactionaries, in Congress seem to have forgotten that. For instance it is the House's duty to move out an infrastructure bill that at least maintains the nation's many bridges tunnels, dams and other items that are maintained with federal money. They have not done so since 2010. Pretty soon that stuff is going to start failing due to lack of maintenance. Then those idiots will be investigating why Obama let the bridges fail.

What you see as a nonfunctional government, others see as properly functioning. There certainly are people who voted for Republicans to prevent further enactment of the Democrats' objectives. Just because you are not getting your way and things you think need to happen aren't, doesn't mean government isn't functioning properly.

FR

Seriously, a lot of the UK's most avowed skinhead goose stepping thugs (the nearest equivalent to the USA's rednecks, perhaps) would fail any test of English ability. Some research recently has revealed, in fact, that there's an identifiable demographic of poor, working class white kids that needs remedial education in order to keep up with everyone else - including the kids of immigrants. Questions are currently being asked by our government as to how best to deal with them.

It's nutty. We in the UK are now facing a situation wherein immigrants and their kids are more likely to be educated in British culture - specifically the language - than people who are white and whose families are British-born through hundreds of years. And this is the demographic that produces most of our ultra-right 'Britain First' types, too.

I mean, can you imagine it? A boss says to a prospective employee, "Sorry, Mr Noforehead. We'd like to take you on, but Mr Ali here speaks and writes English better than you do and knows a lot more about British culture. You're just not as British as he is, basically."

Oh, please... Source some of these polls. Do me a favor though, don't link me polls from Uber-right-Wing websites that if I visit them, I will have to go read 4 hours of articles about kittens just to purge my computer of the stupidity.

Get some good, decent, fair polls and I will believe you.

I can link polls to sites that believe that Regan was an alien and that Michael Jackson is still alive and was brain transferred into Angelina Jolie. I put about the same amount of credibility into them as I would extremely biased sources for polls and information.

But isn't any site that provides anything at all critical of Obama by definition uber right?

I am not sure why President Obama's Administration finds it necessary to pick a fight it knows it cannot win and spend millions of taxpayer dollars doing so but clearly, fluency in English is a reasonable request.

Federal Gov’t Sues Wisconsin Company, Says English-Language Requirement is 'Discrimination'

the question (imo) is why did the company hire Asians & Hispanics in the first place? one possible reason is that maybe they aren't paying as much as they would for English-speaking workers? in which case, why didn't they just hire Hispanic & Asian supervisors that speak those languages & English and end of communication problem.. I don't see a need for fluency in English if the entire crew speaks the same other language.. and if it was my company, I would just learn that other language also.. that said, I do come from a bilingual country where both French & English are my country's official languages so learning another language to me its not a big deal.. and I would actually rather learn Spanish & Mandarin over French anyway..

Where do all of our fuel taxes go. There is already funding in place...

And whatever happened to the trillions in "stimulus" money that was supposed to go toward roads and bridges.

Did the unions divvy it up between themselves and the DNC reelection committee, or what.

You do know that was in 2009 right? it's 2014 now. That sort of stuff has to be done all the time. Please learn to think.

You guys also have a secondary language, which is spanish. Just as in Canada we have french as our secondary language. Depending on demographics, some jobs require the use of a secondary language. If I wanted a job in Montreal, I would likely need to know how to speak french. In the USA it's not quite as cut and dry, but you're going to find that english isn't the most popular language on the block eventually (I bet the same will happen here) and capitalism being capitalism will adjust to target a growing consumer base even if it's at the expense of workers who can't adapt to those changes. Capitalism can be a bitch.

French is not our "secondary" language, both English & French are Canada's official languages (since 1867) & equal in the eyes of the law.. at a certain job level with govt (especially the feds), being bilingual is a requirement & always has been.. but that said, the only reason French is even as strong in Canada as it is presently is because of Quebec's strong language laws, etc.. even an English speaking Prime Minister has to learn French.. oddly enough, according to this, Harper is now learning a third language, Spanish..

"Since rise of Quebec nationalism (following the Quiet Revolution [circa 1960-1966]), and especially the introduction of official bilingualism in the Official Languages Act in 1969 and its entrenchment in the Constitution of 1982, Canadian prime ministers (and party leaders as potential prime ministers) have been expected to be functionally bilingual by convention. An important factor in this trend has been the creation of the televised leaders' debates, which are held in separately in French and English. The parties feel the need to have a leader who can at least participate in both debates, even if they cannot win them both. The need to speak both languages is also seen as symbol of Canada’s identity as a linguistic duality, but it also as a practical political matter, as the prime minister is seen as a leader of the federalist camp opposed to Quebec separatism and must be able to fight for the “hearts and minds” of Quebecers in their native language."

This isn't about anything but the most basic functioning of government. We as a nation built the highway system. It needs to be maintained. We built all those hydroelectric dams. They need to maintained. We built flood control systems. They need to be maintained. The House has to write a bill every year allocating the money to do that. They haven't since 2010. The administration has shifted money around and used existing authorizations where it could but there are a lot bridges, in particular, that are reaching a crisis stage and a huge amount of traffic goes across those interstate bridges everyday. A failure at the wrong time could be catastrophic.

There isn't anything in there that is the so called Democratic objective. Eisenhower built the interstate system. It is vital to our economy. Ignoring its maintenance threatens our very way of life. It is simply beyond comprehension that no infrastructure bills have come out of the House in 4 years.

Poll on immigration policy without the President's name involved and you get very different numbers.

Roll thousands of tractor trailers across hundreds of 40 year old bridges every day for 5 years without any maintenance and yes somewhere it will be a crisis.
