Sanity -> RE: English Fluency, a Reasonable Request (7/8/2014 7:08:25 PM)

What do leftists do after they get all their demands met (after conservatives "compromise" everything away)?

They push further left, always, because socialism breeds failure, then socialists demand more socialism to fix what they broke

See Detroit for a good example

Sure, government fulfills a few good and necessary purposes, roads and defense to name a few... But the problems arise when leftist candidates begin to buy votes with taxpayer money

Why work when a politician will give you free government everything if you just give him total power and control over your life

More and more power over you, always kicking the can a little further down the road to buy more votes and make the people a little more dependent

Heres a thought

Instead of spending all of his time golfing and vacationing and attacking Republicans, essentially half of the voting public, maybe King Barack could step away from his high and mighty throne long enough to actually work with Congress

Like George Bush did, and like Bill Clinton did, and like every other president before him did

Here's a thought.

When was the last time the House actually appointed Conference Committee members? Those are the guys that work out the difference between a bill passed in the House and Senate. It is a routine and basic part of the way Congress functions. Without it nothing gets passed.

Not much point when Reid proclaims house bills doa before they are even cleared through the house.

I find a number of people just can not seem to fathom the problem within Congress. So I'm going to 'switch it up a bit' to help you understand WTF is going on in Congress....

Lets place the Democrats in control of the House, and the Republican/Tea Party controlling the Senate. The Republican/Tea Party has control of the White House, but there are five liberals on the US Supreme Court. As I said, a complete 180 degree turn from what is the current situation. The Democrats keep sending bills forward to the Senate that are pro-progressive/pro-liberal concepts. Examples might be 'Revoking the 2nd Amendment', 'Passing the DREAM ACT', or 'Super-Charge Improvements on the ACA'. How likely do you think the Republican/Tea Party would go for any of these items? Not in a million-zillion years, right? So the Democrats can say they have 'done their jobs' and passed bills, and its not their fault that the Senate is not 'doing the will of the people', right? Yet, those on the Senate state, they are not getting a bill that works for their views and politics. Instead, they create bills with a reasonable sense of compromise to at least have....something....getting through Congress.

The problem is that the Republican/Tea Party has taken a stance that is wholly screwing the nation in every regard. I can and do place some blame with the Democrats and the President; yet they seem willing to do business and try to get this nation to move forward. Republicans and more specifically, the Tea Party, seem hell-bent on fucking the nation, if that helps them win the next election. This is absolute insanity, BamaD! If the point of the GOP/TP is to undermine this nation's health (military, financial, spirit), they are doing an awesome job! What really stuns me is that conservative voters want and demand better government, yet, keep hiring the sort of individuals that could not give a shit about government. Its like its own mental/emotional disorder that has not been defined in the newly published DSV-5.

I know whats going on in congress.
The views of the conservatives in the house and the left wing radicals in the senate are so
divergent as to make compromise very difficult.
Particularly when the senate's idea of compromise is to agree with them.
An ineffective government is better than one that effectively turns us into France.
To blame the GOP for the gridlock is as stupid as to blame the Dems both have a part in it.
You don't seem to realize they are fighting for the soul of the nation.
To we want to stay with the Republic or become a European style socialized state?
If you think that we have to become like Europe then you can't support the reactionaries who fight progress.
If you believe in the republic you can't turn us into France a bit at a time.

There are maybe 2 left wing radicals in the Senate, Sherrod Brown and Elizabeth Warren, and even that is stretching things as both are to the right of me.

The fact is there no Senators as far left as Cruz or Lee are right. much less guys like Gohmert in the House.

Your view is based on the fact that you are to the left of Trotsky.
If you don't see that Boxer and Feinstein are radicals you are blind.

Bullshit.
Trotsky was a communist. I'm a socialist there is a difference. Boxer and Feinstein are barely liberal.

Barely liberal compared to you and Joseph Stalin

Yes a communist thinks the government should be able to take everything an individual has.
A socialist thinks people should give cheerfully give everything to the government.
As I said if you don't think Boxer and Feinstein are flaming liberals you are nuts.
It does not surprise me in the least that you can't see this as you and they seem to consider the Constitution to be an outdated and obstructive document.

The topic is found in the OP under Post #1.....

No. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Let me clue you in on something, all the western democracies, including the USA, are socialist states. The degree varies but since WW2 they all have been. To claim otherwise is simply a lie.

You have been fed propaganda and the sad thing is that you are so poorly informed that you don't even know it.

I don't obey your commands. That you think I will give you the last word simply because you declared Brave Sir Robin is fucking hilarious.
