Sorry, I think you may be mistaken.................He fought the Nazis to defend FREEDOM. He was never too worried about wasting a few lives on the way as long as it wasn't HIS life. He was an asshole, And yes, you are probably right, it DOES tell worlds about me. I really don't give a fiddlers bitch about that though.
Ask the ANZACS what they thought of Churchill and his methods.

Which kind of shows you know fuck all about Churchills early life in the military. It also shows you know little of his reasoning behind the Dardanelles campaign, nor that a "war of attrition" was the general carnage carried out by most armies at that time. Nor that it wasnt Churchills plan that lost so many lives at Gallipoli, but the fact he couldnt get the number of boots on the ground from army high command, plus some atrocious intel on Turkish troop numbers.

I said I couldn't see the point of killing to save life.

Then you're not trying hard enough.

My state recently deregulated knives from "highly restricted" to formally stating you can carry anything you want. Including a spear, switchblade, balisong, claith mhor, or Klingon bat'leth.

Resulting change in "knife crime": zero

Arkansas passed its first laws regulating knives back in the 1800s, trying to curtail the practice of dueling with knives. It was such a common thing that a session of the state legislature had to be paused for two assemblymen to fight to the death with knives. I guess politics was a little more personal in 1837...

A better result than the bans of firearms in DC and Chicago got.

I think that if you check the U.S. laws in your local jurisdiction you will find certain types of knives and sizes of knives regulated by the same laws as firearms... "concealed weapons laws". i.e. Without a concealed carry permit it is unlawful in my local town to carry an edged device concealed with more than a 2-3/4 inch blade. And dirks, daggers, and "Arkansas Toothpicks" and "Bowie" knives were specifically mentioned. No concealed carry without a permit.

I see two different mindsets when you cross the Atlantic or drop below the 49th parallel:
1> It should be banned and confiscated if it "might" be used to harm.
2> You can posses but not use it for harm and not carry it hidden in public where it could be used to harm.

I have a permit so I am covered.
