My ex-F-I-L became a citizen of the U.S. by skiing down the mountain and enlisting in the 10th Mountain Div. in Germany. When I was in, we had at least five different soldiers (I might even be able to remember their names) that chose that path. Not all were from Central or South America. I guess things may have changed, but I know it (at least) used to be that way. Michael
