What (if any) facet of you, or your life, are you working on improving now?  Any skills you're currently trying to improve/learn that might benefit you or your other half/third/quarter/partner (or future other half/third/quarter/partner if there isn't a current one)?

I'm working on improving my ability to accept that the things I desired in a partner have manifest themselves in my life unexpectedly and in a manner that I couldn't have planned or anticipated. With this acceptance means an open acknowledgement and willingness to confront conscious and unconscious fears and uncertainties. Lastly, I'm trying to forego my ideas of what the relationship will be like and how the power exchange will occur and embrace the unknown and the guidance he offers.

There's a quiet calm and a sense of serenity one undergoes when we simply be and allow things to flow on their own without our interference.

sitting up straight. As lame as that sounds. And trying to stop biting my nails. it's much harder than I originally thought it would be especially with the stress of nursing school. It's either that or pull my hair out!

i tend to beat myself up when i make mistakes. i've learned, and i'm still working on it,  to realize that i WILL make mistakes and to just learn from them. i'm not superwoman so i need to stop telling myself that is what i need to be.

Im working out what my next step is. I spent the last few years sorting my life out from quite a bad place and after resting back and enjoying my suceess wioth that, i find myself at a point where now I am all good i want more in my life both bdsm and in a work way.  I am actively trying to put myself into my local bdsm community and am lea\rning new skills all the time.
Im also working on  my confidence a lot and developing my more strict side

Folding laundry. For a house girl, my domestic skills are painfully lacking.
Boning up on my critical theory. My 6 month break from academia has been maddening, and mental masturbation is, like, so hot.

My self-esteem.  I tend to take rejection way to hard, and that deturs me from showing interest next time.

I'm working on my Brattyness and trying to find a good balance between it and my submissive nature.

Strength.  I'm doing a strength protocol for the next month, month and a half, trying to use very heavy lifts and low reps, even monster lifts and partial reps, to try and force both muscle growth and fiber recruitment, ie strength.

I am working on a lot of things. One is my health and weight issues. Another is my sense of overwhelming insecurity at times. Most days I am very secure in who I am but other days, the simplest little thing brings a overwhelming, heart pounding sense of insecurity to me. And I feel as if I am starting to have panic attacks again and those are not pleasant to endure. I am also working on fulfilling my role in this life; defining who I am as a submissive and then moving forward with my life, living it as it was intended to be.

And oh yeah, being in more control of my Cajun temper which explodes at times as much as I hate myself afterwards for letting it get the best of me.

I am constantly "improving" not just in BDSM but in life.  My actions, my words, my abilities, all speak for themselves and I want them to speak well.

Specifically I have a desire (moreso than ever before) to get a decent singletail and practice until I've learned something useful.  *I always hit my self more than my victim*

My experiences lies in borrowing a friend's whip for a few practice throws and I wound up with welts about my legs.  Which isn't all bad! *damn bottom in me*

I now own a lovely slave who would accept my single tail, when proficient, with honor and grace so I'm all giddy just typing of the idea!

I strive to improve something about me every day of my life, in all facets of my life.

You are so right in thinking on how we could improve on ourselves, its a good thing to think about in all aspects of our lives, and thank you for posting, its little reminders like that that remind me that i have to keep going when it comes to improvment.

All the best to you

Beanie

Some of what i will say here doesn't seem overtly BDSM but it ALL goes directly back to my relationship with my Daddy and there for is BDSM M/s

i'm working hard on my self esteem... the better i feel about myself the less my esteem gets in the way of my attitude and other things and the better i am able to serve my Daddy without my mind gettng in the way (negatively)

i'm working on trying to overcome my fears.

i am trying to learn about baseball and golf (both things are huge past times for my Daddy sooo i want to understand these things)

i'm working on making my body better (working out and trying to eat right so that i am a better slave for it-this also goes with the first thing i mentioned)

that's all that comes to mind at this early hour of my day...maybe after more coffee i'll have other things.

I have lost a good deal of weight and want to lose more. The top two things i am actively addressing are getting a regular and consistant excerize regime(sp?) and, i am going to quit smoking within the month.

Although it's not necessarily BDSM related, I work continually on breaking my fears. I pick one each year (sometimes two if it goes well) and face them repeatedly until they don't bother me, or at least, don't bother me as much. I've come a long way in breaking my fear of heights (not all the way yet), and this year it's my fear of motorcycles. I suppose it could be BDSM if I were to pick something that made me uncomfortable and kept pushing the limit.

To let my insecurities go.  This is very difficult for me as I have been let down in the past.  It is very hard to trust that Daddy will always be there, no matter what.  Day by day I am letting those insecurities go as Daddy proves again and again that he will do the things he promises.

i just knew that i've have more to add once the coffee kicked in :)

One of my biggest pit falls is just plain obediance without asking questions soo this is a huge one i think i am getting better at.

Another one is keeping focused on positive stuff and looking at REALITY vs. the sometimes horror movie that is showing deep inside my psyche. (this is another difficult task for me)

Not necessarily bdsm related but something that is important to my Master: gardening and growing flowers.  He is very good with plants and flowers of all kinds and i have never been able to keep anything but a snake plant alive (i don't think it's actually possible to kill one).  i have purchased and collected numerous books which i've been studying up on about how to create pleasing flower gardens and grow and maintain various types of plants year-round.  i look forward to one day being very capable in this area so i can help tend all His plants/flowers and plant and maintain ones of my own.......slave luci
