My suggestion would be to look at your wants, look at the Real World, see if they can co-exist and if not, reconsider your wants.

You'll just have to change your needs to fit the sub. At least, that's the type of advice people would give to a sub asking why it's so hard to find a female dominant.

The simple truth is that everybody has needs and desires, and no matter what anybody says, there is no such thing as a truly "selfless" sub/slave. Even if they act in a completely selfless manner, they must be fulfilling their own needs or desires by doing so, or they wouldn't act that way. Unfortunately, many dominant women seem to be satisfied only with a sub whose needs and desires are fulfilled completely by fulfilling the Mistress's needs, with nothing else on the agenda. Good luck with that. I'm not saying that there's nobody like that out there, but there sure as heck aren't many.

ok here goes.
On the London Underground (metro?) they have an automatic voice that goes along with most of the automatically opening train doors. It simply says: Mind the gap! It's a warning to watch out for that deep dark chasm in between the edge of the train and the edge of the platform.
It's also a friendly memorable term which describes the cognitive term cognitive dissonance, which is the thought of the difference between where we are (ie on the train) and where we want to go (say Harrods?). It describes all kinds of gaps; the difference between what we have and what we want, the difference between how we feel and how we feel we ought to feel, the difference between the price we expect to pay for a pair of shoes and the actual price (those who lnow the original research will recognise it was based on.....yes, you got it, the price of shoes).
So; there's a feeling you have that you want a male slave? well there are actually hundreds of thousands out there. so it can't really be, surely, that you cannot FIND one. It's more like the slave is not the one, not quite the one or not the one you expected the slave to be.
Well my questyion is...what train are you on? whose in charge of what the slave is expected to be?
i'm a slave (of the female variet and owned so don't get on my train ok?). i had the very same gap. i simply decided to take one day....it's in my jourmal someplace, when i surrendered. i mean i really did. i let go. i let go even of letting go. is this clear? i let go of searching, looking, needing, expecting to find a Master. i stayed on that slave train and didn't get off to look. Whoever heard of sych a thing anyway?
One day the Master actually got on the train i was on and ordered me off. There was no 'Mind the gap' voice at all.
So; whose actually in charge of the slave you want? whose mind created that slave? Whose body wishes to own it? Whose authority is going to shape and change and in all ways actually own the slave you say you cannot find?
Actually it's as easy as shopping at Harrods. (i don't shop there so that was a metaphysic ok).
